Let's get this bread
Join me and my pet sourdough starter, Karl, as we try to master the art of bread baking.
Documenting our journey to look back on,
the results of each oven burn and every spill of flour will be on full display.
And so what if not every boule turns out perfect. At least we got some nice (and some not so nice) pictures out of it.
And carbs. Lots of carbs.

I made a balloon! Need to work on developing a deeper color. And getting a sharper knife.

Looks decent, but looks can be deceiving. This was basically a rock.

Note to self: 425° isn't hot enough. Also Karl was starting to die.

Liked how this looked out the oven, but Karl was dying, and the interior crumb showed it.

Took some time, but I made a new Karl! Morbid, I know. But hey, more bread for us!

Nice ear. Mom said it was burnt (I beg to differ). We ate it all the same.

Why yes, I did finally get a bread lame. Thanks for noticing!

Almost a perfect boule for me. Definitely the prettiest one I've ever made.

You can't win 'em all. Still tasted good though.

First high hydration boule (83%). Flattened a bit while baking, but had a nice crumb.

Wish I dusted with more flower. Oops, I meant flour. Haha get it?

Karl all dried up for the school year. Don't worry, this is completely safe for him.
